  • This guitar was a gift to Eric Clapton from Martin in March 2005.

Dale Unger, a guitar maker and native of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, apprentice to the archtop guitar maker, Bob Benedetto, started the American Archtop company and worked closely with the Martin Guitar Company over the years. This guitar, which represents a fusion of archtop guitar making and Martin's flat-top tradition, was built by Dale Unger for Martin under the model name CF-1 in circa 2005.
