in black finish, mahogany body with single pointed cutaway, mahogany neck, twenty-two fret ebony fingerboard with diamond and dot inlays, three DiMarzio single coil pickups, three rotary controls, selector switch on engraved aluminum plate, toggle switch, aluminum bridge, aluminum tailpiece engraved with a foliate design and maker's name ZEMAITIS, the body inlaid with abalone and mother-of-pearl, the headstock decorated with two silver plaques, one engraved with a foliate motif, the other with the letter Z; and a gray Zemaitis mock crocodile contour hardshell case with black plush lining containing Zemaitis tool kit; and handwritten label with various inscriptions including ZEMAITIS SER E.CLAPTON / BLACK, ENGRAVED, INLAID

  • Tony Zemaitis (1935 – 2002) was an English luthier based in Kent, England. His highly decorated electric and acoustic guitars have been played by Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, George Harrison and Eric Clapton amongst others. After his death, Zemaitis Japan was established and has been building Zemaitis guitars from the templates that were left by Tony Zemaitis working with his former partner, Danny O'Brien, the engraver.
