A rare Persian child's shamshir
late 18th/early 19th century
Slender, curved 22 inch blade showing a fine watered pattern. Steel guard of traditional form with gold overlaid floral scrollwork. Grip with bone gripscales, the spine decorated en suite to guard.
Condition: Fine blade showing some light spotting along edge. Guard and hilt with wear to gold decoration. Grips with minor chipping along edges and possibly period replacements.
