An ivory-mounted Persian jambiya
late 18th/early 19th century
Curved 10 1/2 inch blade with median ridge, the base decorated with gold koftgari panels, one side with florals and the other with inscriptions. Marine ivory hilt intaglio-carved overall, one side deeply carved with the nude figures of Adam and Eve, the reverse with courtly personages.
Condition: Blade with mottled grey metal showing minor losses to gilt decoration. Grip showing some wear and age cracks.
