Prototype communications carrier manufactured by Air-Lock and Gentex Corp. Blue nylon and white mesh, with cushioned earphones and microphone, the microphone mounted at forehead area. Adjustable chin strap, Gentex label at back on velcro fit adjuster. Main cord for the sound system mounted near right earphone, protected by nylon sheath, and with Air-Lock plug in blue anodized metal.
A prototype of the device officially known as a "Communications Carrier," but later popularly referred to as the Snoopy Cap. The final versions were manufactured by David Clark Company, of which Air-Lock was a subsidiary, and were worn during the launch sequence, while in the lunar module, and on the lunar surface.
