With THOMAS P. STAFFORD'S signed provenance letter, reading: "The Gemini 6 envelope displayed below comes from my personal collection. The envelope was postmarked on the launch date of Gemini 6December 15, 1965. Gemini 6 was my first space mission with Wally Schirra as commander. We had hoped to make a rendezvous with an Agena target vehicle in October, but it failed to reach orbit. It was decided to put Gemini 7 in orbit next. After a heroic effort by the Gemini launch and management team, our Gemini 6 launch followed in just eleven days. We made Gemini 7 the target for the first manned space flight rendezvous. Wally and I accomplished that rendezvous the same day of our Gemini 6 launchDecember 15, 1965. Wally and I signed this envelope after our flight which has a mailing label with the 435 Bayou View Drive address in Seabrook, Texasmy home near the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center during the 1960s and early 1970s."
