A large Castelli maiolica dish, late 17th century
Painted in the manner of Francesco Grue, with a hunting scene depicting horsemen and hounds pursuing a deer based on engravings by Antonio Tempesta, a town in the distance, within a manganese trefoil border on a yellow ground around the well, the rim painted with a band of scrolling foliage, 42.7cm diam.
