A pair of Italian maiolica small albarelli, first half 16th century
Probably Faenza, with decoration alla porcellana, of cylindrical shape with short, tapering shoulders and bases, both painted in blue with a central frieze of formal flowerheads linked by delicate foliate scrollwork, between bands washed in graduating tones of blue, 11.2cm and 11.9cm high, incised pharmacy marks under the bases (fine hairline cracks) (2)
