A rare Swansea teacup and saucer, circa 1815-17
In 'glassy' paste, the cup with a ring and scroll handle, locally painted by William Billingsley with vignettes of rustic figures, the cup with a man carrying a bag over his shoulder, the saucer with a woman standing by a tree, a basket over her left arm, characteristic wispy branches in the foreground, within gilded rims, saucer 13.5cm diam (saucer with two rim chips and regilded, some wear to centre of saucer) (2)
