A Sèvres plate from the 'Service Marly rouge', circa 1809
Painted with a butterfly in the centre against a sky-blue ground enclosed by a burnished gilt band with a floral wreath, the gilt-edged rim with a gilt foliate border on a tomato-red ground, 23.8cm diam., 'M.Imp.le/ de Sevres/ 1809' stencilled in iron-red, gilder's mark AB, incised mark (very minor wear)
