one side stained black, the other side stained a red/brown, kings with petal or floral tops, queens with baluster knops and bone galleries, bishops similar but of smaller size, knights with carved horses' heads in bone, rooks as turrets, pawns with baluster knops and bone finials,
the king 9cm high, the pawn 5cm high.
