The cartonnier of bombé form surmounted by a putti holding a torch beside a cockerel, above a clock with circular enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes inscribed BRINDEAU A PARIS, the movement stamped J.E.D in oval and numbered 10293, the twin train movement with lever platform escapement, striking on a bell and fitted with eight tooled leather drawers below, decorated to the back and sides with foliate floral scroll marquetry ornament; the bureau plat with shaped top inset with tooled leather writing panel, the undulating frieze fitted with a drawer to either side, raised on cabriole legs headed by caryatids trailing to scroll sabots, inscribed F. Linke.
