A Vertigo World Preview dinner menu, signed by Alfred Hitchcock, Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak and Herbert Coleman
Printed menu from San Francisco restaurant Ernie's, single leaf folded horizontally, signed to the nieces of the restaurant's owner by Hitchcock, Stewart, Novak, and associate producer Herbert Coleman during the preview celebration for the film.
Jimmy Stewart played the acrophobic detective who witnesses his friend's wife fall to her death and then is haunted by her double in what many consider to be one of the very best films of all time. The film is also famous for being shot on location in the San Francisco Bay area--including at a restaurant named Ernie's on 847 Montgomery Street, where the world preview celebration for the film was also held on May 9, 1958. Hitchcock includes his sketched profile along with his signature.
