Carole Lombard signed letter
A single page typed letter on custom "CL" stationary dated July 20, 1938 with original transmittal envelope. The letter is signed in green ink, "Carole" and reads in part, "Nat dear, / I loved hearing from you again, but naturally / I was terribly shocked to hear of your father.../ Delighted that you are come west. I do / believe it is the best thing for you." The letter of condolence was written to costume designer Natalie Visart at the time of her father's death.
