  • This was acquired, together with a Reslosound microphone and two Ferrograph tape recorders from the club, by the vendor, a photographer who photographed the Beatles in the 60s. This equipment was sold by Bonhams as lot 225, 15th August 2010. The original Cavern sales receipt, dated 1st September 1963, was included in the lot.
    Sold with this telephone is an unrelated sales invoice from the time, on the back of which the vendor wrote, in connection with his photographing the Beatles: 'Phone John Lennon Wed 10AM The Cavern Pub at Liverpool (Group) Central 2674/2675/2676 or Brian Epstine (sic) Royal 7895 Re photographs'. There is also a note regarding supplying photographs of 'Jo Brown (Singer)' on the back.
