Footnotes

  • Sidney John Woods was the advertising manager at Ealing from 1943. Woods often designed the layout of posters and subsequently commissioned artists to produce images for them. This poster with its superimposed photographic images over a background is not dissimilar to that of the Lavender Hill Mob, whose layout was also designed by Woods.
