playing Il Barbier De Seville; Choeur Des Montagnards, Dame Blanche; Favorite Walzer Aus Der Freischutz; Grand Marche De Guillaume Tell, with single-spring motor, single-section comb of approximately 113 teeth, shaped governor with petit endstone, blued cylinder bracket screws, on stamped and polished plain brass bedplate in neutral interior, period engraved brass tunesheet, in small polished light mahogany case, the lid bearing brass plaque inscribed Charlotte My Love Lt. Phillips, inset mother-of-pearl roundel to lid edge front above escutcheon below - 12.7/8in. (32.5cm) wide, the cylinder 7.3/4in. (19.5cm)

    The notation quality of this musical box is outstanding.

    The four replaced teeth are very difficult to identify, each of which perfectly tuned.
    A loose old slip of paper within bears inked instructions of operation, no doubt written by Lt. Phillips to Charlotte.
