the cylinder pin face signed Chapuis & Barrah, Geneva, 1815, the case by J. F. Bautte & Cie,
No. 35, the early cylinder movement playing a single air, the bass-left fourteen part sectional comb with teeth in groups of three on crescent-shaped bedplate, comb bar stamped C&BP, impressive four-part start/stop linkage chain running under bedplate with all hairsprings and ratchet points blued, in gold purse-form case with rear hinged compartment with hook pull, the main movement cover bearing crest featuring M S, the faux clasp centre of raised appliqué, fan wave-line ground with leaf and roundel frieze border infilled with cobalt blue enamel, repeated to main lid and snuff compartment bearing hexagonal cartouche with pansy flower, edge with sextuplet grande-lignes decoration and underside with further fan wave-line ground and full complimenting cobalt blue enamel border including the spine, start/stop button push to fornt-left edge, (no key, the female winding stem split) - 2.5/8in. (6.5cm) deep, the width 2.1/8in. (5.5cm), the cylinder 1.1/8in. (2.8cm), the diameter 3/8in. (0.9cm) approximately
