A rare Lamb's patent "Fish" trailing ship's log, early 19th century,
the fish-shaped body in brass and timber enclosing a paddle driven brass recording mechanism reading up to 50 leagues, in 1/10th league increments.
Although no record of the patent survives, it is believed that this instrument pre-dates Massey's patent of 1802.
