with going-barrel movement, the bird with banding feathered plumage in tones of dark green and Royal blue, iridescent highlights in fire red, green and orange, rising through cast gilt grille, in shaped ivory panel-clad case with all planes decorated with incised geometric patterns, infilled with lamp-black, the corners with full-turned columns with finial tops, wave-shaped plinth apron, underside with lotus flower decoration, raised on bun feet, (no key) - 5.1/8in. (13cm) wide

Footnotes

  • Raymy worked in Geneva from around 1903, but such was his workshops' lack of records, advertising or prominence, the dates are speculative.
    The usual stamp of OMM within a windmill frame are always seen on Raymy's singing bird box movements, with the rarer earlier ones carrying L.M.G.
