with single-spring going-barrel movement, double metal fin governor, four-pillar cam plate stamped with the early Bontems mark and number, the bird with dark blue feathered plumage with subtle teal green highlights, moving composition beak and tailfeather to continuous birdsong, upon tubular gilt brass T perch, silk roseheads, buds, leaves and coiled stem intertwining dress from dark green baize covered base, under fine gilded domed hexagonal cage, the hoop and boss top above circular dome top, hexagonal profile apron of alternating pairs of birds and double rosehead mounts, flaming torch capitals above the fluted columns and five regular intermediate bars, petit scroll frieze above the eight servés inset panels depicting birds on blossom-crested tree, a lone musician in a forest clearing playing a lute, a lone lady clutching a picked flower, another with a score of music and study of two lovers embracing, each with mitred frieze and plain blue border, stylized acanthus leaf inset frame to the main cast gilt body, on eight gilt ball feet, start/stop from underside, T bar key through one panel side - 20in. (51cm) high, 10in. (26cm) wide
