23-jewel chronograph movement with 8 adjustment, signed on the bridge Patek Philippe and with Geneva quality stamp, bi-metallic balance with micro-regulation, matt-silvered dial with applied gold Arabic and pyramidal hour markers, outer printed tachymetre scale, polished gold leaf hands and blued steel chronograph hand, round case with snap on back, small squared pushers flanking the crown, down-turned faceted or 'spider' lugs, fitted leather strap, case, dial and movement signed
36mm.

  • With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1956 and its subsequent sale on May 11th 1957.

    The Reference 1579 which was introduced into the market in 1943, is not only one of the largest models with a diameter of 36 mm, but is also the only one with facetted 'spider' lugs.

    To the best of our knowledge, this watch has never before been offered at auction.
