The substantial case surmounted by a hinged handle, over the brass mounted inverted bell top, brass lined glazed side frets and break arch door with conforming mounts to the quadrants and chamfered corners, raised on a shallow brass bound plinth base on moulded block feet, the signed 5.75 inch brass Roman and Arabic break arch dial with floral and foliate spandrels bordering the silvered chapter ring and matted centre with an applied signature plate, mock pendulum aperture and chamfered square calendar aperture, with a strike/silent subsidiary dial to the arch, the twin train fusee movement with verge escapement, rack strike on a bell and trip repeat, the plates united by knopped pillars, the backplate signed within a foliate cartouche, bordered by further tendrils centred on a mask. 45cm (17.75in)
