The case with wavy edged cresting and urn shaped finials over a reeded arc and polished arch set with three brass roundels and a group of a woman and cherub over freestanding Corinthian columns, the door with wavy edge over a long trunk door of good figure on a tall base, the 12 inch square one-piece silvered dial with Roman hours and Arabic quarters, signed in a straight line below XII, the movement with a five wheel train terminating in a deadbeat escapement, the flat rod pendulum with a very heavy brass-faced lenticular bob 2.28m (7ft 8ins) high.
