of tapered cylindrical form with applied bands and textured wood grain decoration, embossed and engraved with a scene of two gentleman seated in conversation, the hinged domed fluted cover with scroll thumpiece, to bifurcated raffia bound handle, height 24cm, weight 31oz.

    The two gentlemen are presumed to be Christopher Columbus, and Stephen Grover Cleveland, 22nd and 24th President of the United States. Cleveland was in office in 1893, during the 400th Anniversary of Columbus' voyages to the New World.
