French School, 19th Century
A decorative portrait of an 18th Century Gentleman, called the Comte de Gramont, wearing grey coat, white waistcoat, stock and lace cravat, his powdered wig worn en queue.
Gilt-mounted on circular ivory perfume vial, the cylindrical mouth with stopper in the form of a dove, the reverse with gilt-mounted aperture, glazed to reveal gilt-metal monogram EAL on plaited hair, the oval gilt-mounts to obverse and reverse taking the form of laurel wreaths.
