English School, 18th Century A Noble Lady
Scandinavian School, early 18th Century
A Noblelady, wearing silver-grey gown, white chemise, jewelled brooches to her bodice and corsage, a brown mantle with gold embroidered edge and blue lining fastened to her dress with a black diamond brooch at her left shoulder, matching earring, her powdered hair elaborately curled, upswept and falling before her left shoulder.
Watercolour on card, gilt-metal frame with laurel leaf border and pierced ribbon cresting.
