Footnotes

  • The present lot can be dated to circa 1800-1805, when the 58th were partly stationed in Cork, Ireland. During this period while also being stationed in Jersey (1802-November 1804) they raised, in 1803, a 2nd Battalion in Cork and surrounding counties, effectively doubling their numbers.
