body of swirling flute form; another similar silver example; six other double telescopic silver examples, first with engine-turned linear and pellet body detailing, second, in pattern 2205a, third, with engine-turned pellet body decoration, fourth, shortened with reeded decoration and bloodstone finial, fifth, London 1920, inscribed 'Charlestown District, June 1935', also a hexagon shaped silver propelling pencil, by F. Webb Ltd. Birmingham 1915, with etched decoration on body, as well as quantity other double telescopic pencil cases with bail finials, two with agate stems. (Qty)

Footnotes

  • The former part of this lot has a small arrow detail. This was generally used on gold pencils by Mordan that did not bear the name. Mark Hill in his article 'Mordan Propelling Pencils', for ARC Magazine June 2011, page 27 comments that there should be fewer 'feather 'flights' on one side than the other.'
