  • Stencil to the canvas for Windsor & Newton, 38 Rathbone Place dates this to between 1833-1860. This coupled with the 'Ipswich' inscription would indicate a date for this painting of between 1846-1850.
    A very similar composition and on a similarly grand scale was offered by Oscar & Peter Johnson at the Lowndes Lodge Gallery December 1969 titled 'Mousehold Heath with Norwich Castle and Cathedral on the Horizon'.
