A mid 19th century German gold Royal presentation box,
by Charles Colins Söhne, Hanau, circa 1860,
the cover set with the monogram of Frederick Francis, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin in gold on blue enamel, surrounded by stylised rose and foliate-scroll relief decoration on a matted ground, the arc-en-arbalette sides profusely engraved with flowers and ivy leaves, length 8.5cm.
