An early 19th century gold and enamelled oval snuff box,
the cover stamped twice with maker's mark of a crowned (?) H and three flower marks, probably Hanau,
the cover with a central panel of burnt-Sienna translucent enamel over a linear and pellet engine-turned ground within a blue champlevé enamel bell husk band and a border of flowering clematis with white opaque flowers and translucent green leaves on a matted ground, the sides and base with similar decoration, the panels separated by entwined clematis pilasters, length 8cm.
