the plain bell-shaped cup applied with angular scroll handles with beaded rat-tail to top and junction, raised on a gadroon-edged foot, each side engraved with contemporaneous limerick and inscription "Fearfax be shure when in this cup you drink you ou your fathers' vertues ever think His example take and you'le surely find Nothing more wining then a generous mind" and the opposite side is engraved "Limerick" and the following; "Memorandum This cup was Presented to ffairfax wallis Son of Coft Wallis' by the officers of the Honble Sr Roger Bradshaws Regment then Present as a token of their affections to his father for the Services done the Regment May this small cup remaine whilst all shall rott and name of wallis never be forgott", height 9.7cm, weight 9.67oz.
