A pair of George III Irish silver two-handled cups,
by Richard Tudor, Dublin, no date letter, third quarter of 18th century,
the urn-shaped cups embossed with a wide band of undulating spiral flutes above "honeycomb" flutes, the upper section embossed and chased, to one side a cherub atop a barrel pouring wine into a goblet and opposite a vacant cartouche, all amongst trailing fruiting vine tendrils. raised on a spread circular foot with gadroon border, engraved "16.9" and "16.7" respectively, height 25cm, weight 31.60oz.
