the cover with a chased and engraved monogram of Charles Ferdinand, Duc de Bery, with fleur de lys spandrels within a blue enamelled line and a fruiting vine border, the sides with panels of wavy engine-turning within blue bands separated by anthemions to the corners below a fruiting vine band, the base with similar engine turning and vine border, length 8.5cm, weight 182.3gms.
