Toplevers, ribs and trigger-guard tangs numbered '1' and '2' in gold, fences carved with stylised acanthus leaves, best bouquet and foliate-scroll engraving, well-figured stocks (No. 1 slight crack to right of top tang, minor repair at top right horn, No. 2 possibly a replacement), (forends with minor splits), the Whitworth Steel chopper-lump barrels (No. 2 loose on action), each engraved Whitworth's Fluid Pressed Steel, with game-ribs engraved F. Beesley, 2 St. James's Street, London, Pall Mall Corner
Weight 5lb. 15¼oz. (No. 1) and 6lb. ¾oz. (No. 2), 14 5/8in. stocks, 28½in. barrels, all approx. 3/8 choke, 2½in. chambers, Birmingham nitro reproof (barrel-thicknesses below recommended minimum)
