A George III mahogany longcase clock
John Gartly, Aberdeen (active 1783-1825).
The 12 inch dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring enclosing subsidiary seconds and date dials with strike /silent dials to the arch, enclosed by pierced gilt brass spandrels, the twin train movement striking a bell, within an arched hood with central carved acanthus leaf, above an arched trunk door and raised on a box base and later bracket feet. 218.5cm high
