The Royal Berkshire & Wiltshire Regimental Insignia
Royal Berkshire items include a rare other ranks collar badge to the 49th (Hertfordshire) regiment c1875-1881, then post 1881 a QVC officer's boss badge gilt on red cord, a KC gilt on red cord with 'R.Berks' below the Dragon, two osd KC boss badges on red cord (without 'R.Berks'), and two KC with 'R.Berks', two KC boss badges with 'R.Berks', two osd KC boss badges on green and khaki cord respectively (both with 'R.Berks'). Two cast bronze osd caps in o/r format (one blade missing on one), a scarce post WW" off KC cap in bronze silver plate/enamel and a similar QEC example. A good w/m cap to the 1st VB and w/m collars, an o/r hpc 'Royal Berks' (i lug missing), an all w/m cap.. A rare single s/title, 'MT/CC/Royal Berks', sundry collars and basic issue s/titles. Four Royal Berks officers' large QVC tunic buttons and a w/m glengarry assumed to be Berkshire Rifle Volunteers. The Wiltshire section includes a scarce 'slip-over' brass numeral '99' for the o/r helmet plate 1878-1881, white metal caps to the 1st Wilts RV (1898-1902) this complete with a soldered on green horse hair plume, and a 2nd VB example. Two WWII Bakelite caps of varying shades of grey, a s/title T/4/Wilts, plus a good selection of officers' and o/r caps and collars. Later badges for the Gloucestshire/Wiltshire Regiment, (parcel).
