Ryley, in England, thanking him for gift of $2.10 "for the emancipated slaves" which she has passed on to the Boston Committee "assiduously laboring for the mental & physical well being of the emancipated slaves" ("...Such a substantial token of sympathy from your side o the water outweighs a million of unworthy sayings & doings & makes us proud to remember that we are of British origin..."); the remaining two to her "young friend" Constance, enclosing her photograph as requested ("...I think I recognise in you a former correspondent during the time of our late war & your father was one of the few who at that crisis under stood & felt for us in what we were doing..."), in the second thanking her for her exquisite gift ("...I hope our respective countries are not going to 'fall out & chide & fight'..."), 6 pages, laid onto album leaves, 8vo, Andover, Cambridge and Florida, 1863-1873
