Jewelled 3/4 gilt plate movement, lever escapement, cut and compensated bi-metallic balance, Breguet overcoil hairspring, white enamel dial with black Roman numerals bordered by an outer minute track, blued steel spade hands, subsidiary seconds at 6, polished hinged case with plain band, engine turned case back with foliate engraved 'F.S' in a cartouche, cuvette inscribed, 'PRESENTED TO DET THOMAS SMART BY THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF H.DIVN MET POLICE AS A MARK OF RESPECT AND ESTEEM ON HIS RETIREMENT AFTER 26 YEARS SERVICE. 16-6-1913.', together with 18ct gold Albert chain and attached 1910 sovereign, dial and movement signed, case signed W.E.
