    Allonby is located on the coast of the Allerdale district in Cumbria and the village overlooks Allonby Bay in the Solway Firth. Allonby, and the five mile coastal strip that incorporates the bay, give dramatic views across the Solway to the Galloway hills of Scotland.

    On 17 November 2010, Bonhams established a new world auction record for Fell when Cumberland Village Under Snow fetched £32,400.
