Washing Day was always on Monday
signed 'HELEN BRADLEY' and with fly insignia (lower right) and inscribed 'Washing Day was always on Monday/and on fine summer days it was always/a happy day for George and I. Aunt Mary/and aunt Frances came to help, and/Grandma arrived later to make our/dinner which was always Potato Hash./Sarah, who was very strong came early/whilst everyone was asleep, because/she had to light the boiler fire to heat/the water. She always helped with/pushing the handle from side to side in/the new washing machine, Father was very/proud of this washing machine and would/not listen when Mother said it was very/hard to work - "anyway", he said "Sarah can/manage it", and the year was 1907' (on a label attached to the backboard)
