    Henry H. Holmes 'Catalogue of oil paintings, watercolours..' published privately 1932. P.34. In this catalogue of his collection Mr Holmes describes the painting thus: 'A charming study of vessels afloat and ashore - illustrative of life in Vincent's time in Greenich. A three-decker Man of War shored up with gangway opening in the side is carefully depicted and the detail of rigging is a pleasing feature.'
