  • A comparable duck sauce tureen is illustrated by R.W.Fuchs, Made in China: Export Porcelain from the Leo and Doris Hodroff Collection at Winterthur, Winterthur, 2005, p.96, col.pl.55, where he suggests a date of circa 1760; and D.S.Howard, The Choice of the Private Trader, London, 1994, pp.112-113. See also W.R.Sargent, The Copeland Collection - Chinese and Japanese Ceramic Figures, Massachusetts, 1991, p.181, col.pl.86; M.Beurdeley, Porcelain of the East India Companies, London, 1962, p.172, no.101; and D.F.Lunsingh Scheurleer, Chinese Export Porcelain - Chine de Commande, London, 1974, no.191. A pair with less vivid enamel is also in the Copeland Collection, Boston, illustrated, p.231, col.pl.113, based on Meissen tureens modelled in 1781.
