Bearing a ground of formalised waves and carved in relief with an elaborate arrangement of various flowers in a tall-handled basket, a separate spray resting on a tray on the reverse and the interior of black lacquer, the top and bottom carved with shippo-tsunagi motifs, signed in a rectangular reserve Yosei zo; with a red lacquer ojime carved with a foliate branch, unsigned. 7.9cm (3 1/8in).
