Both lavishly and typically executed in stained ivory, mother-of-pearl and tortoise-shell, the front of both vases decorated with an exotic long-tailed bird perched on a flowering cherry branch, the reverse of both vases with a different elaborate ikebana vase, both on detachable, integral four-legged wood stands lacquered with floral sprays in gold takamakie, unsigned. Both tusk vases 23cm (9in) high, the wood stands 19cm (7½in) high. (4).
