A ni mai mongara odoshi tachi do tosei gusoku armour
Mid Edo Period, late 18th century
A twelve plate black-lacquered iron hoshi bachi kabuto fitted with a tosei mabisashi embossed with eyebrows above which is a maedate of gilded leather horns, the Hineno jikoro or iron kiritsuke kozane laced in red kebiki odoshi, black-lacquered iron menpo with hair moustache and chin tuft the yodarekake laced with white kebiki odoshi; Ko sode of iron kiritsuke kozane laced in dark blue kebiki odoshi, the ni mai do laced in Mongara style, laced mainly in dark blue a large moon in white lacing and gold lacquer has been added on the front and back, the kusazuri laced in red kebiki odoshi with small areas of mail stitch over the yurugi ito; gold lacquered shino gote, ikada haidate (associated) shino suneate, lacquered overall in black with the points of the sane gilded, together with an armour box and stand.
