A Dresden clock garniture, 19th century
Based on the Meissen models by J.J. Kändler and J.F. Eberlein, the clock case with gilded pierced sides and top, with rocaille moulding in turquoise and pink, applied with flowers, set on a plinth with rocaille feet and applied flowers, the Polish Eagle holding an emblem of Augustus the Strong with a Polish shield and crown beneath the clock face, 61cm high, the candlesticks, encrusted with flowers with puce and pink scrollwork on pierced bases, all applied with allegorical figures 44.5cm high, underglaze-blue Kändler/Eberlein and 'Dresden' marks, impressed '782' (3)
