Labelled Jofeph Guarnerius fecit Cremone Anno 1736 IHS Length of back 355mm (14in) with a fine scroll of a red golden brown colour, restorations. (1)

  • Offered with the Certificato di Authenticita, no., 1148, of Andrea Bisiach signed and dated Milano, 26 Settembre 1965 stating the above..."e un autentico Violino Classico della celebre Scuola Cremonese in ogni sua parte. Secondo la mia opinione ed in tutta consienza ed esperienza di oltre cinquanta anni nell'Arte della Liuteria, garantisco che trattasi di opera di Joseph Guarnerius."

    Also letters and correspondence relating to the above from the nineteen thirties including a handwritten statement by Andrea Bisiach and others giving details of the Bisiach family ownership of the above violin and its aquisition.
