Thence by descent
The present lot was inspired by the poems of Tambimuttu (1915 1983). Tambimuttu was a Tamil poet, editor and critic. He arrived in London in 1938, and a year later he began to publish Poetry London, a small magazine that was to be important in the next decade. Tambi, as he became known to his friends, published 'India Love Poems' in 1977 in a special edition of 200 copies, which was illustrated with prints by John Piper.
